Last week I copied a famous painting by Gustav Klimt (Adele Bloch-Bauer with her lovely long neck and golden dress) and it got me thinking about details. I love the details in Klimt's work. So I gathered the details I love, those swishes, and swirls, and flowing lines and dots, and gold! You can't forget Klimt's gold! I combined those with the newest technique I love (layers of matte medium and watercolor paint; something I learned in Carla Sonheim's online course 2019: Year of the Collage) and my love of swimming and along came my latest swimming series: Swim Flow. I started very small 4 x 6" and by the time I completed number four, I was working at 11 x 14". I could see going bigger, of course. Maybe when the weather warms up and I can paint outside. I also see that I'm only painting swimmin' women, and maybe it's time for a guy. We'll see.
Head on over to my Original Art shop and see what's new. Thank you for all the great response to my February Flowers project, there are a few of those originals available too! If you see something that is "sold out" let me know, maybe we can work on a commission together. Comment below or send me a message if you have any questions!
